RoofLITE + White Painted Roof Window - SOLID WHITE

Our 4 RoofLITE+ Roof Windows – Which Is The Best For You?

With many products in any market, you often find that the lower the price, the bigger the compromise is on overall quality, but there are some products that go against that trend. Over the years, RoofLITE+ (formerly known as RoofLITE) have generated a solid reputation for providing high quality roof windows for a fraction of the cost.

Even when you have determined that the RoofLITE+ brand meets your needs in terms of value for money, you still have the decision of ‘which roof window is best for me?’ to make. Here you will find all you need to know about all 4 of our RoofLITE+ roof windows and how each one may benefit you.

RoofLITE+ SOLID WHITE

Many years ago, the pine finish was the most popular option for roof windows until modern and contemporary colours and styles were introduced into our homes. This is when the white painted finish came into its own and is one of the very many reasons why the RoofLITE+ SOLID WHITE is one of the most desirable roof windows in the market, let alone the RoofLITE+ range.

This particular roof window has rocketed to immense popularity, thanks to the stunning water based paint finish on the internal frame and the fantastic aluminium grey trims seen on the outside along with the various features and benefits that stem from the frame itself and the glass.

RoofLITE + White Painted Roof Window - SOLID WHITE

Each SOLID WHITE roof window carries a double glazed construction that consists of a 4mm internal pane, a 16mm argon gas cavity and 4mm toughened external pane, which along with the white painted frame contributes to a u-value of 1.3 W/m2K; one of the best for any double glazed roof window and sound insulation of 32 (-1:-5) dB, providing effective noise reduction.

The SOLID WHITE roof window has a zinc handle located at the bottom of the sash, which you turn 90 degrees and then push open from the bottom, activating the centre pivot mechanism, which in turn provides ventilation when you need it most. If your window is installed high up and out-of-reach, then there are a number of options to help with that.

If you are looking for a cost effective and manual operation, then the telescopic pole is the perfect solution as it can extend up to 1.8m (6ft). We also supply an electric motor, supplied with a switch and rain sensor, allowing you to open your out-of-reach SOLID WHITE but not be caught out should the weather take a turn for the worse.

RoofLITE+ SOLID PVC

With white painted roof windows becoming immensely popular over the years, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that white PVC roof windows have also followed the same trend, but there is more than meets the eye with PVC roof windows.

Carrying the same thermal efficiency and sound reduction as the SOLID WHITE, the SOLID PVC consists of a PVC construction with a steel core, providing additional strength and durability. One of its most beneficial features is the PVC internal finish itself as it carries one advantage over roof windows with a pine construction; low maintenance.

RoofLITE+ PVC Roof Window - SOLID PVC

As PVC roof windows are easy to wipe down and clean, they make suitable additions to areas where there is high humidity such as kitchens or bathrooms, whereas pine roof windows may require a little more maintenance. Of course, you can add these into any room if you so please, but they are particularly useful in rooms where the window itself will be installed out-of-reach, due to its low maintenance finish.

Like the SOLID WHITE, the SOLID PVC has a centre pivot mechanism and a zinc handle at the bottom of the sash can be operated in the same way, but if installed out of reach, you can use the telescopic pole or electric motor with switch and rain sensor to open and close it.

RoofLITE+ SLIM VENT

Pine roof windows may not be the kings of the market that they once were, but due to their low cost and traditional aesthetic, they are still hugely desirable, especially for traditional style homes and properties with a more rustic appearance.

What is mightily impressive with the SLIM VENT roof window is that it offer the same thermal efficiency and sound reduction as the SOLID WHITE & SOLID PVC despite its slimmer frame. What’s more is that this roof window carries a feature that its white finish, centre pivot counterparts doesn’t, a ventilation valve.

RoofLITE+ Roof Windows

A ventilation valve is a clever little component that allows you to ventilate your home without ever having to open your roof window in the first place. The SLIM VENT still operates in the same way as the SOLID WHITE & SOLID PVC with its centre pivot mechanism and zinc handle, but located at the top of the sash is your ventilation valve. You simply push this in ever so slightly and it will pop open, allowing fresh air into your home.

The SLIM VENT can be manually operated via the telescopic pole if installed out-of-reach, but the motor is not compatible with this roof window, due to its slim frame.

RoofLITE+ SOLID VISION

Available in pine and white painted, the SOLID VISION is not quite centre pivot nor is it quite top hung, but somewhere in between. Its mechanism is located approximately ¼ of the way down from the top and offers one very important and very useful feature that no other RoofLITE+ roof window we supply has.

Its high pivot mechanism is certainly beneficial for offering glorious uninterrupted views, but the SOLID VISION can also be used as a means of escape. Vital for life-saving purposes but can also be hugely important to fall in line with regulations should you need it.

Roof window RoofLITE+ SOLID VISION WHITE_78x140

Offering the same thermal efficiency as every other RoofLITE+ roof window we supply, but the enhanced glazing construction offers a better sound insulation of 34 (-1:-4) dB, ensuring improved noise reduction.

Even though it has a high pivot mechanism, the SOLID VISION roof windows operate in the same way via the zinc handle located at the bottom of the sash, but what you will also notice is that both SOLID VISION roof windows, whether it be pine or white painted, carry a ventilation valve like the SLIM VENT, allowing you to ventilate your home without having to open your window.

The range of sizes is a little more limited in comparison to their centre pivot counterparts, but if you can find that you can accommodate a SOLID VISION roof window, you will find a very worthy addition to your home and if installed out-of-reach, the telescopic pole can help. The motor isn’t compatible with high pivot roof windows.

Each RoofLITE+ roof window is supplied with a 10 year guarantee, which can only be utilised when a proper installation with a RoofLITE+ flashing is achieved. Flashings are extremely important for the installation of your roof windows as they provide a weathertight seal around your window.
